ASUS Chromebox 3 comes in a rather small box, made of plain brown cardboard. On the front side, you only see the name of the device - Chromebox - and the company motto.

Hardware specifications
ASUS Chromebox 3 takes power from an Intel processor which, depending on your model, can be an Intel Core i7-8550U, Intel Core i5-8250U, Intel Core i3-7100U, or Intel Celeron 3865U.

The sample we tested came with an Intel Core i3 7100U dual-core processor that runs at 2.40 GHz. This processor was launched in the third quarter of 2016. It has two cores, four threads, 3MB cache memory, and only 15 Watt TDP.

This processor is equipped with DDR4 RAM up to 16GB, but not less than 4 GB. The sample we tested uses 4GB of RAM, which is enough for all types of web search and office activities.

The graphics are handled by an Intel HD integrated chip that is part of the processor. It is an Intel HD Graphics 620, capable of displaying 4K at 60Hz, at a maximum resolution of up to 4096 x 2304 pixels. It runs at a base frequency of 300 MHz to a maximum of 1.00 GHz, with support for DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5. In addition, it supports up to three screens that are connected simultaneously.

Regarding storage, the ASUS Chromebox 3 comes with an M.2 SSD with a capacity that can vary between 32GB and 256GB. The sample we tested has a 64GB SSD installed.
